Repost 09- Girls who have the late start event/Girls who have 2 event + RHs
So I went to drop off a payment at my RH yesterday, and one of the questions I had for them was to see if they would write the name of my dining room on my contract, because I had just read a review from my RH where apparently they changed the room on the bride day of.
I was told that they do not put the room on the contract, because if something should happen beyond their control to the room, i.e. burst pipe, they don't want to be held to that room. But they said they would show me their book, so I would see for myself that I was put in for the correct room.
So they show me the book, and I see that the other room, the designated 6:00 start room, is booked for that night. It's a corporate holiday party, so I will be the only wedding, as we pretty much were told, because our time of year it's all parties and not many weddings there.
So ideally, I was keeping my fingers crossed that the other slot would go unbooked, and I'd be the only event there, but can't really be mad that we're not, because such is a 2 event hall.
BUT...now I'm nervous, because a) we're going to be taking pics in the lobby and stuff as the corporate guests are going into CH and arriving, and I don't want to be distracted by that and have a bunch of drunk yuppies in my way, as well as when they're leaving CH to go to their party, and b) there is only a half hour turnaround time to clear them out of CH, clean up, put out fresh food (we hope), AND set out my placecards, napkins, decor, etc.
So, question is, for girls who are already married, did you run in to a similar situation, and did it go smoothly? And for girls who are not married yet, would you have the same concerns?
I'm a little worried now honestly that I'm not going to be able to get a lot of pictures done because there will be interference, and I'm also concerned that the non-specific hot chafing dishes, like the antipasto and salads and stuff will just be refilled, and not brought out fresh, and the idea of food that other people have already reached over SKEEVES me to no end.
