ok i think i narrowed down either using patken or velvet as my photgrapher and video ... i just dont know which one to use ... i am leaning more towards patken ... cause they have a stufio and they are right by my RH so i figure if it rains i can go there to take pictures cause i'mnot to thrilled on the shots that you can take inside my RH ... i just dont know if that should be a reason i pick them ... what do you think??
ETA: another consideration is that Patken's parent books are only 275 while velvets are 500

We booked with Velvet for a few reasons. My sister used them in 2005 and like many other Velvet brides, her service and pictures were phenomenal. When the time came around for us to start looking, we met with our RH house photographers, but weren't impressed. We met with Bob at Velvet and he worked with us on prices and packages and best of all treated us like family. You have to work with someone you feel comfortable with. Good luck!

Personally, I would pick Velvet. IMO, you get what you pay for.

well, my experience with Velvet was very disappointing to me. FM me if you want details. And just remember that no vendor is perfect.
If I had it to do over again, I would go with Patken, Duet, or Imagine.

I will be using Patken for photo and video. I never met with Velvet so I cannot be of much help but it depends on what you felt when you met with each photographer.
I must say, I have had no problems with Patken thus far and they have been nothing but helpful with me asking if I can switch from the photographer they assigned to us.

I'm using Patken and I LOVE them. My brother used them and had a great experience. We met with them yesterday for our engagement shoot and it was phenominal!
