What types of items did you register for at each?

since FH and I live together, we didn't need everything.

But we did register for a lot of things that we wanted to upgrade (expensive coffee maker, etc). we also registered for stuff that we would probably never buy ourselves... like leather china protectors (we just got them as a wedding gift and they’re awesome!).

one thing we did do is, if we REALLY wanted an item, we put it on both registries (if the item was sold in both stores).

My FH and I live together so we didn't need everything either, but what we registered for everything. Majority of the stuff we own came from my mother's, and everything else we own are hand me downs or we bought cheap cause we really couldn't afford it... So now is the time to get the good stuff... NEW...

I am in the same situation, everythingwe have is passed down form my parents and bought real cheap.. now we can register for alll nice stuff, so excited!

Same here!! We are still using things from college, so we registered for everything new...casual china, pots and pans, silverware, stemware, applinces like an espresso machine and blender and fun items like a pizza stone and chopper!! We did not register for china b/c I have my grandmas.

DH and I lived together before marriage too but never bought anything b/c we wanted to wait for our registry- at BBB we registered for a lot of kitchen stuff, at Fortunoffs are china, everyday china, forget the name the fancy forks and knives set with the box, and some crystal. oh and fortunoffs our bath stuff.

We registered for an upgrade to nearly everything. We both have our college stuff and all those walmart pots/pans/utensils that you buy piece by piece along the way. Nothing matches now, so registering helped us get good quality stuff that is OURS.

And once the wedding is over we plan on either having a garage sale or donating all our old stuff to charity. There are always new grads that need unmatching, cheap stuff.

We have lived together for three and a half yrs. so we registered for a lot fun stuff since we had everything. Plus, we recently moved into a house in Philly, so we had gotten a lot of new stuff b4 the move. But we got really cool stuff like a panini machine, a waffle maker, the KitchenAid mixer, a paella pan, lots of wall hangings, a fondue maker, etc.
