I think Ave Maria was sung.

hehe i'm having a catholic mass and i'm doing something COMPLETELY non-traditional at the end. the entire mass itself is SO traditional (and beautiful, don't get me wrong) but i wanted to do something at the end that kind of let's everyone have a chuckle or take a breath and at the same time is surprising in a nice way as well.
we are having, only FH and i know about this, our string quartet play just a couple of bars of the traditional ending after we kiss (dun, dun, dun-dun-da...) lol and then go right into 'all you need is love' by the beatles (instrumental of course--all strings). we are so excited, it is from one of me and my fh's fave movies 'love actually' with hugh grant and liam neeson. it's just something that we saw and fell in love with and we said we HAVE to incorporate that. BUT your church has to be willing to play non-traditional music, which my church has no problem with.
so that's what we are doing! i wanted something lively and a little surprise to end a very traditional, long, and serious catholic mass. this way people start to get into that 'fun, a party is coming' mood!

i love that idea!! my church will only let us do a non traditional song after the vows but it has to be a pre aproved non traditional so we are trying to find a suitable song, but is fun, all you need is love would be nice!
