Hi ladies! Our wedding is in July and I want my dress to look very full. The women from the place that I bought my gown said I should use a hoop skirt because it makes it full and will keep the dress away from my legs so i don't get too hot in the summer.
I am just worried that the dress might look too stiff or something and I won't be able to sit down without the hoops coming up. Does anyone have any advice or pics of their dress with a hoop skirt?

That sounds like a really great idea for the hot weather! I dont think it would look funny... does she have one for you to try on?

Yes I would try the gown with one on so you get the feel of it.
Also I think that's great that it will help with the hot weather

Yea, I will try both on when the dress comes in, but I was just looking for some pics and opinions while I am waiting. I have another two months before it comes in, and I have just been thinking about it a lot. Thanks!!

girls here is the best advice i can give .. THINK ABOUT COMFORT AND MOBILITY during the day .. when i went for my first fitting everyone said the largest slip looked the best when i stood in the small room so i went for it .. stupid move .. it was soooooooooooo uncomfortable that day . i almost fell on my face walking into the church but instead put my leg through one of the layers (so uncomfortable throughtout the ceremony) i had to hold the dress up throughout the entire night when we were dancing .. just a small piece of advice walk around in the skirt and see how it feels - sit down in it dance aroudn in it .. try going in adn out of doorwyars

I got married in July and had a full skirt, not a hoop skirt and I really did not get that hot. We were only outside for about an hour or so taking pictures. The rest of the day we were in ac.
ETA: DH and I are were dancing all night long with no trouble:

Thank you very much!! My gown should be here some time next month. I'm so excited and so nervous all at the same time!

I think Athee07 is the only 07er I know of who actually wore real hoop skirt. You can try FMing her or check her review.

I tried on a hoop skirt when dress shopping and didn't like it. Just my opinion though. I thought it made the dress hang wierd and when I walked it swinged like a bell. That could have been because the dress wasn't my size but I don't know. I've been looking online for super full crinoline to get the same effect, but do worry about getting hot. I like the look of the crinoline better, so I guess I'll just suffer!

Thanks for all of your advice. I guess I will just have to see how both feel on me when I go for a fitting.
