Repost from 07 board: Please help!

I need some opinions...

I ordered my dress in ivory b/c it looks best on me. FH is a Marine so he is going to be wearing his dress blues which has a white belt. (I just realized this now! Guess I wasn't thinking!) Is my dress going to look dirty next to the white belt???

Please help

I can still change it if I need to.

Not one single person will notice his belt to your dress.

Not one.

Stop worrying you both will look amazing!!!!

I understand what you mean. I have an ivory/champagne colored gown myself. I have read so many things on here about tuxes and being sure that the man gets an ivory shirt if you are wearing ivory so your gown doesn't look dirty. In the same breathe, I can understand when you say that the ivory looks better on you than the white. I too was the same and this is the reason I did not order white. White was too stark on me. Honestly, I know you are worried about this but I would not be. I think it's cool that your FH will be dressed in his uniform. I don't think people will think your dress is diry next to his belt.

My gown was ivory. My veil was diamond white. My DH wore a TAN suit with a WHITE shirt and an IVORY tie. It was fine. I had more shades of 'white' going on than anyone.

No one will EVER look at a wedding dress and think it looks dirty.

Don't stress, you'll both look gorgeous in your pics!

I know! Everywhere I read that when the bride has an ivory dress the tuxes should be ivory too. So it has me a bit worried, but now i'm thinking it will look fine. Thanks!
