Re: Repost from 07.....nutrisystem/Jenny Craig
I've actually done both. I have mixed feelings about them. On the one hand, both programs offer you structure and I was able to lose the weight I wanted on both of them fairly quickly and easily. However, once I started eating 'real' food again, it did not take me long to gain most of the weight back. Nutrisystem is much more cost effective - less than $300 if I remember correctly for 5 weeks of food (they always offer a 1 week free bonus if you order a month's supply). Jenny Craig cost me about $100 to a little more per week. But, Jenny Craig's food tasted much better, Nutrisystem took some getting used to and at first weirded me out a little bit. I think they are good programs to give you a little jump start, but it is not magic food - just controlled portions, about 1200 calories/day. Weight Watchers definitely took me a lot longer to lose weight on, but it really taught me how to make better choices, and as a result I've kept it off. HTH!

i've done both several times and ended up getting gastrc bypass. :) i lost 165lbs..thank god you dont have that much to lose (and from the way i see it..any at all).
anway, jennie's food is much better. as soon as you start eating for real again you gain all the weight back unless ypu keep your portions similar. and you get spoiled..never making anything on your own. i think you are better off sticking to a good plan and excercise. it's also pricey.

i have never tried either one of them. i do have a client who is a leader for jenny craig. funny thing is she lost 30 lbs not on jenny craig on weight watchers and they still hired her knowing that

I started Jenny Craig last January and lost 25 pounds within the year. I have been maintaining since then and starting May I am going back hardcore to lose the last 20 pounds I want before the wedding. It's a really easy program to follow- I just got bored with the food after a while.
Good luck to you.

i lost 17 pounds on JC last fall and kept almost all of it off. and i've been eating like c rap! i just rejoined again last week and already took off 4 pounds.
JC definitely helps with portion sizes and i did learn a lot about what to eat. WW never worked for me and i never tried NS.
JC definitely works and i can't wait to take off the last 10 pounds!
