Repost from 08 Board: Takeout boxes for Viennese Hour?

I went to a friend's wedding a few years ago, and she had little bakery type boxes at the Viennese Hour so people could take some things to go at the end of the night when they left. And she also had a sticker with her and her husband's name on it with the date. I thought it was so cute and really want to do that at mine. But she can't remember where she got the boxes from.

Does anyone know of a place or website to recommend for getting these type of boxes? And where I can get stickers with our name and date on it?

Try orientaltrading.com for like chinese take out boxes. Also, look at your nearest 99 cents store, they should have the small aluminum containers. Labels, you can just print yourself, go to staples, office depot, etc etc and get labels. Depending on how big you want your label, is how big you get them. Go on like MS publisher or even MS word and get creative.

that sounds like a cool idea! Is that done in place of the Favors? Or as well as? Either way, I like it.

I'm going to do it as well as favors. That's what my friend did. At first I thought her RH had provided it, but then she had told me how she went and got the boxes and the labels.

Dollar Stores definately have stuff you can use. I think Michaels mighth ave had some small bakery/cake boxes when I was there last.

I like that idea though! I might have to incorporate that into my wedding!

Please check with your RH that they will allow this. Many will not allow people to take food home with them. People may leave the food out for too long, get sick, and try to sue the RH.

I asked my RH and they said they will only allow people to take home what they did not finish for dinner - and only if it is not fish. Many places are the same.

You can use cateringsupplies.com for the takeout boxes. I searched the web and found their prices to be the least expensive. Also, alot of takeout boxes are not actually made to carry food. They are used for crafts. The ones I bought are ready to go.

As for the label, that sounds like a DIY project. You can use the colors of your wedding as a border and your names/date for the label. i got all of my labels at Staples.

I did the same thing for my Viennese hour - I got gable boxes, tied monogram labels and put some good luck chinese stickers on them. They were a huge hit!

I saw boxes that look like chinese take out boxes at target and they are resonable! Good Luck!

My cousin did the same at her wedding a few months ago. She went to her local Chinese restaurant and got a better deal than the .99 store or the craft store. Good Luck

I was just at Cedarhurst Paper in Oceanside and they have all kinds of take out boxes there. I don't know where you are located, but if you want to go see them in person I know they have them

not sure about where u can get them but just wanted to say that i think it's such a great idea! our viennese was AMAZING but we were the only ones who took stuff to go.. i felt like so much of it went to waste! ...and i'm sure guests would've LOOOVED to bring some of that home!
