There is a bird sanctuary in Floral Park. It was a sump converted into the sanctuary. There are some pretty places along the perimeter to take pictures....benches, wrought iron fence....that kinda thing. They have a path going around it which looks very nice. I think the interior looks like the sump still. I haven't been in myself so I don't know how far in the beauty continues. I also don't know when its open or if you need permission or something. I was thinking of looking into it myself.
