repost from 08 boards...reception question..please help
So my cousin came to visit from Florida to see his mom who is in a nursing home and he came for dinner last night. We were chatting about the wedding and I asked him if he thought his wife was going to come with him to the wedding (b/c he came alone to my brother's). He said yea, we'll all come. My mom and I looked at each other, like uh-oh. We tried to say that we are not having kids at the wedding. He is planning on bringing his son! Plus, his brother, my other cuz, has 3 kids!!! Ugh!
So now my mom is thinking of hiring a sitter to stay at the house with the kids during the reception. I don't want to write no children or adults only on the reception cards b/c I am inviting all my 1st cousins, a few of 2 of the are under 12. But none of my cousin's children. So how can a tactfully tell him without sounding like a b*tch? I would love it if everyone could be there but the cost is crazy! What do you girls think I should do?
