Repost from 08 Brides: Those going to Hawaii for their HM

I'm in the process of getting ready to book my HM to Hawaii. Anyone going to Hawaii, what islands are you going to and what hotels are you staying at?

I know we only plan to do 3 islands - The Big Island, Oahu, and Maui. So far it looks like we're doing 2 nights in Oahu, 3 nights at the Big Island, and 4 nights in Maui. (We're only going for 10 days cause that's really all the time I can get off for from work).

I'm interested in knowing what hotels people recommend, and maybe anything you might've added on like tours and activities. Thanks.

I did a lot of research before booking (I read a lot of the travel books). Many of our friends went to Hawaii too, so we got some advice from them too. We are going to Oahu, Maui and Kauai. In Oahu, we are staying at The Hilton Hawaiian Village (it seems to be really popular). In Maui, we are staying at the Fairmont and in Kauai, we are staying at the Hyatt. Our travel agent says that we should expect to see some celebrities at these hotels because they are really good.

We are going to the Big Island, Oahu, Maui and Kuaui. I am still deciding about hotels because of the expense We want to stay at the Hyatt at all three islands (the Big Island is just a day trip to see the volcanoes and we aren't staying overnight). I heard great things about the Farimont and the Hyatt, and I know that if you stay at the Hyatt at three islands you get a discount. Sorry I don't have more info!!!

We are going in October and staying in Oahu for 2 nights, the Big Island for 3 nights, and Maui for 4 nights. We are staying in 2 Outriggers on the first 2 islands and then in Maui we are staying at the Royal Lahaina. We did alot of research and my cousin went there on his honeymoon as well so he gave us alot of ideas. We haven't booked anything other than flights and hotels yet, but my FH knows alot of people through work who helped us get great deals. His boss is from Hawaii and actually is friends with the CEO of the Royal Lahaina, so they helped us alot. We were very lucky. We definately want to see Pearl Harbor in Oahu, take a helicopter ride, go snorkeling and hike up one of the volcanos on the Big Island, and we just kind of wanted to end the trip relaxing in Maui. We are going to tour the Road to Hana there, we are going ton some sort of a dinner cruise, luau, and maybe a day at the spa. Hope this helps! Feel free to FM me if you have any more questions.

Ive been to Oahu a few times and weve always stayed at the Hilton Hawaiin Village. It is a fabulous resort with lots of things to do, great resturants/shopping, nightly entertainment, and ofcourse beautiful beach. I'd reccomend staying at the Kalia Tower because its one of the newer buildings. Also they just finished putting up a brand new building last month as well i believe, so i would inquire about that one as well. Were going back there for Christmas

Thanks for all the info. FH's cousin is booking the trip for us because she does something with travel at her job at Amex. And I went and got the Frommer's book for Hawaii yesterday so I could do some research on the places she gave us quotes for. I think we're going to do the Outrigger in Oahu, Marriott Resort and Spa on the Big Island, and Marriott Wailea in Maui. So excited, can't wait to book!!!!

I checked out the cruise too, and it looked nice, but we decided to do air/land travel instead. My boss is actually on the cruise for Hawaii right now on NCL, so I'll ask him about it when he gets back.
