Repost from 08: How long before the wedding do you go for your final fitting?
My seamstress is leaving it up to me as to when I want to bring the dress in....she said I will need to have 3 fittings total, but its up to me when I want to bring it in. How long before the wedding do you generally go for your last fitting? Dont want to cut too close, but dont want to leave too much time in the unlikely case I end up losing weight before the wedding

i'm having my first one 5 weeks before my wedding. i hear a lot of brides tend to lose a lot of weight as they get closer to their wedding date (stress, starvations, whatever). so, you don't want to start too early.

I had my first one about 1.5 months before the wedding and my last one about 2-3 weeks before. While everyone said, brides lose weight before the wedding - I did not.
ETA: the only aterations I needed were a bustle and stays for the dress. No hemming or taking in or out whatsoever.
