Okay, a member on here suggested I look at this board for ideas so here I am
I'm trying to come up with a wedding theme/color scheme. My wedding is in early September. Getting married in a chuch and the reception is at the Carlyle. I LOVE the color red but I don't know if it is really appropriate for the season. Maybe a lighter shade of red??
I also want to find really nice, quality, unique placecard holders. I don't want to do votives. Anyone have ideas or any websites I can look at for inspiration?

I've been told red is fine anytime. I really want red in April.

I think red is appropriate anytime especially in early September, but if you want to be more comfortable, maybe try going for a deeper shade of red-more into the light burgandy shades or like those 'autumn red' lipstick shades where it's red but has a touch of brown as opposed to the brighter orange of summer red.
As far as the place cards...what kind were you looking for? Do you wnat the silver place card settings or like little silver objects? What is your theme? That might help to narrow it down.

Betsy (ewickens) was a September bride and I know she used Red (tho it was actually Claret). It's a beautiful color for a wedding any time of year!!! But check out her review or look in her album for pics.

You can do red, I dont think there is really any more stigma on colors during certain times of the year. You could do red, or maybe more along the lines of burgandy with different shades of flowers, maybe some reds and oranges, or even reds and pinks

I think you should do the red if that is what you want. Two of my closest friends got married, one in sept. and the other in November and both did red (claret/wine) and it looked BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!
For flowers one did deep deep reds and orange-y colors, the other did pink and white. I think everything came out great.
