Re: Repost from 2010: RH on the water
I went to see Atlantica - The ballroom was breath-taking, and I know the off-season prices are far more reasonable than the summer season, but I don't know if it's worth it during the off-season because the beach and the deck are the whole point of being there! Land's End - Love it there, love Lovin Oven Caterers. I went there for NYE and it was awesome, and my brother's wedding was there, and that was awesome too! The best food/dinner I've ever had at a wedding or wedding type event, hands down! (That's why I went with Flowerfield!) How many people were you looking to invite? Atlantica is good for around 150 or so, where are Land's End can accommodate like 300 (although my brother' wedding was about 130 and it was fine!). Villa Lombardi's is not near the water at all but what about Lombardi's on the Bay in Patchogue? I looked their for a minute-- although it wasn't done then, it looked like it was going to be really nice, not to mention all redone! They will accommodate like 200, maybe more? And my job does a bunch of stuff (banquets, recruit dinners) at Huntington Harbor- pretty nice, but I like the one's I just mentioned better! What are you looking to spend PP? How do you feel about another wedding going on? The places I just mentioned are only one wedding at a time, which is nice.

Re: Repost from 2010: RH on the water
At this point, I don't know how many people, but it will probably be around 150- 200 (maybe more, but hopefully not hehe).
I would prefer one wedding at a time, but I really don't mind more weddings.
Thanks sooo much for your advice. Very helpful.
Ideally, I would like to spend 100-130 (or less) a person. I know most of those places are going to be like 180. That is why I was thinking of doing it during the off season. I don't know! Sooo hard to make a decision. Thanks though!!

You should also check out the Old Field Club in Setauket, NY (www.oldfieldclub.com). It's absolutely gorgeous. Very Martha Stewart-ish and on an inlet of the north shore. Great food, good pricing it's a must see!

Re: Repost from 2010: RH on the water
I had my wedding at CLM and loved every minute of it and have seen pics of a winter wedding there and the pics were beautiful.
I grew up near Thatched cottage and have been to events there (never a wedding) and it was always just ok. I do think they have gotten better over the years though cause I hear great reviews.
Crescent Beach - went to a wedding there back in 03. Loved it. Setting is beautiful. Food was good.
Huntington Harbor club - went to a wedding there and wasnt impressed but that was back in late 90s so I dont think its even a valid review.
I only looked at waterfront RH's. You might want to look at Capt Bills, Riviera, Timberpoint (not right on the water but on the golf course near the water)

You should check out Giando on the Water, in Brooklyn! That's where I'm getting married next year. I also looked at Water's Edge, and Giando's is a lot nicer IMHO.

Re: Repost from 2010: RH on the water
Atlantica--BEAUTIFUL classic reception room; however, we didn't like it for a few reasons: I didn't like the shuffle between ceremony and cocktail hour (no place for guests to go to wait between the two) and didn't like the food options--there was only 1 station included in the normal package for the cocktail hour. Since we always enjoy CH food more, I think its important to have more than a pasta station.
Land's End--I know its a favorite and is not a dealbreakers but the ceilings were a bit low. Amazing food and amazing outdoor space though!
Crescent Beach Club--I actually booked here and then got my deposit back. We had dinner here right before we were giving the true deposit (only had a STD deposit down) and did not enjoy our food--that sort of ruined it. I also didn't like the inside room for the ceremony.
Water's Edge--I'm getting married here so its my automatic favorite--everything we wanted we got here! A lot of really good food, a great price, and an amazing view! We love the people we are working with and are so glad we chose it. I know WE will be AMAZING in the winter with the views! It would actually be even nicer if it were snowing!!

we wanted on the water too! FH is a boater and loves the water! we looked at and booked Chateau La Mer!!! We loved it and ALLLL of our experiences there so far have been amazing! We went to the food tasting and there wasnt a thing that wasnt delicious. The views from the large room downstaires are amazing! I love the idea of and indoor/outdoor cocktail hour cause im getting marriend in july and it could be very hot so this way you have the option.... plus the boat arrival is one of a kind! the pricing is reasonable too!!!
anyway of course i am biased but i LOVE CLM!!!

The Venetian - is beautiful my FH loved the shrimp boat they had at the cocktail hour. The wedding we were out was fairly big and we had to wait on line to get drinks but besides that everything was great!!!
Creseant Beach Club - the cocktail hour outside was beautiful they had a perfect day and the sunset was amazing. I did not love the food or the inside area for the cocktail hour.
Russo's on the Bay - my sister got married there and it was beautiful the service and food were out of this world. the cocktail and vh hour were insane the amount of food they gave us. But if you are looking for some place on the water with a view then this isnt it, they also have a bunch of weddings going on at the same time. My only complaint about it was that we walked in and i saw another bride and bridal party then when we were taking family pictures there was another bride standing waiting for us to finish, besides that the place is great!!!
Waters Edge - the place is beautiful and the view is amazing!! The food and service were great!!! My cousin got married there and she had her vh on the boat and we took a little ride around the city!!

Re: Repost from 2010: RH on the water
I got married at the Thatched Cottage, and LOVED it. We went back there for our 1 year anniversary, and they gave us a special dinner for two on the gazebo where we got married. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, and the cocktail hour food was amazing, and so incredibly abundant. I have friends who still talk about it, and whenever they go to another wedding, they talk about how our cocktail hour food was better. The main course was OK - nothing special - typical catering hall food, but the place was just so beautiful and all service was excellent.
Atlantica - Very pretty, very classy, but IMO, not worth the $. You are not actually on the beach, you are in a tent next to the beach. That just killed me - so close, but so far away. The food and service was good.
Riviera - I went to a wedding there recently. Beautiful grounds. Typical catering hall food.
Lands End - I only looked there, and I really loved it. We didn't chose it because it was more $ than TC which we loved as well, and it was kinda far for us to travel.
Crescent Beach Club -- IMO this is the IDEAL ceremony location. There is a deck built on the beach. So beautiful. I wasn't as swept away with the inside, and it was completely too much $ for me. If it rained on our wedding day, and we chose the place just because of the outside ceremony, I would have been devastated.

I'm getting married at Lombardi's on the Sound. Lombardi's on the Bay is beautiful so far & will be even more so when the renovations are finished. However, I would NOT book them for more than 150 people, even 150 is pushing it! While the ballroom is exquisite, it is small. That's why we chose the Sound over the Bay.
FM me if you want pricing or more info

Re: Repost from 2010: RH on the water
Lands End is fabulous. I just got married there on August 8. Everyone is raving about it. I can't even begin to tell you how many people said it was the best place they have ever been to. BIL is in the food industry and very picky and had NOTHING negative to say, he said they did a perfect job. Everyone said the food was restaurant food, not catering food. The maitre d was amazing, I felt like I was waited on hand and foot... minute i needed help with anything she was there but she was only in site when I needed her. AMAZING. Place is gorgeous too. I know everyone raves about their place, but I actually had a guest's parents try to move their daughters wedding to it, with less then a month to go after going to my wedding there. I have never heard one negative comment about it from anyone who has ever been there, my wedding or any others.

Chateau La Mer - was there for TWOTY and it was outstanding, the service and food was amazing. Villa Lombardi's - food is always amazing Land's End - food and service was great at a wedding I went to there Huntington Harbor Club - we have had a number of family functions there and everything is always great I just feel like the ceilings are a little low for my taste in the downstairs room for a wedding Swan CLub - cousin got married here and the food was great service wasn't but this was 3 1/2 years ago
