My theme is a fall theme. Before I even had my color scheme I had found a brown invitation with gold writing and a gold now which I liked very much and I was going to put a fall leaf in the bow so when they opened the bow the leaf would fall.

Now that I have a color scheme of purple, burnt orange, with gold accents I'm lost. I really like the invitation but it doesn't come in purple. I'm having a hard time finding invitations with purple that I like.

Does my invitations have to match my color scheme or would it look ok sending brown invitations and then having everyone surprised the day of the wedding with the color scheme?

My girls are wearing plum. My invites will be black and white embossed w a lil silver
My table numbers and menus will have the same border plum and black. Programs will be black white and plum. The invites arent at the actual wedding so I think it's fine

I think it still matches along with the fall theme even if it doesn't fit into the color scheme exactly.

I don't think it matters. Personally, when I get a wedding invitation I open it, think 'that's pretty', write the RSVP date in my planner and then I forget about what it looks like lol
