So it seems that I will not be able to get to my guest minimum with the A-list. So I have to come up with a B-list.
Here is the situation and I need some advice:
There are some girls that are friends of my friend Nancy. I met them while hanging out with Nancy. I never really became friends with them, but I talked to them when Nancy and I hung out. Also, I haven't seen them in almost a year. But, since I need more people, I figured I would invite them.
How can I do this? I really don't have much of a relationship with them, so to just send an invitation to them would be weird. If I tell Nancy I want to invite them, that may be weird also b/c (again) I really don't have much of a relationship with them. If I say I have room at the wedding and I would like to invite them, it may be insulting.
I know they wouldn't invite me to their weddings, but I think it would be fun to have some more young women at my wedding. Also, since Nancy isn't bringing a guest and only knows a few people, I think it would be fun for her too.
How can I approach this situation?

IMHO, I don't think there is any right way to invite them. . . I understand that you want to invite them so they can come enjoy your wedding and to keep your friend company ( and to also meet your minimum ) but it is EXPENSIVE for people to attend weddings. . . so I just don't feel it is right

I dont know if theres a good way to do it. Could you instead call people who were invited w/out guests and see if they want to bring guests?

how many of these girls are you planning to invite? How many people do you need to meet your minimum?

Its really just 3 girls I plan to invite. I need about 15 - 20 more people (give or take a few).

Understood. Its too bad that it has become expensive to attend a wedding. I really wouldn't expect a gift from them or anything.

yes but then you will have another awkward situation on your hands bc you can't tell them that you arent expecting a gift bc you cant ASSUME that you are getting a gift AND most people wouldnt come and NOT bring a gift EVEN if you did say something. . .
good luck meeting your minimum, I hope you figure something out!!
