Were any of you pregnant BMs...did any of you have pregnant BMs? If so, how did you/they handle shopping for a BM dress?
My sister (LisaLou) will *have* her baby in early May - 4 months before my wedding. She is unsure about when to start looking for BM dresses (my other BMs will be ordering some time between Nov & early Feb) and when she does, how does she order? Should she order her current size or should she order a few sizes bigger?
Thanks!

Re: REPOST from BHB Board...
That's truly a tough one b/c there's no telling what her body will be like 4 mos. after giving birth. Perhaps they can order her dress in 1 or 2 sizes bigger, and then also order an extra panel of fabric, just in case she needs some extra room in the dress.

Re: REPOST from BHB Board...
My SIL and I are having babies (March, April)5months before my brothers wedding (August), and we will both be BM's.
Its really hard to say because everyone is different after a baby. Since this will be my 2nd child, I have something to go by (my previous pregnancy) I was back at my pre-preggo weight by the time he was 3-4m old. So I HOPE to be the same with this pregnancy. (and maybe lose some more on top of that )
We are actually going to be fitted for the dresses within the next 2 weeks. Im really not showing at all, no major size changes yet (except for 'my girls'), Im still wearing all my same clothes, so I feel like its a perfect time to get measured. My SIL has started showing much sooner than me, and its her first pregnancy, so her situation may be different. She wants to get fitted asap.
I would say order as soon as possible and tell the saleslady the situation, theyve dealt with this type of thing many times im sure.
Another way to look at it is. If the dresses can be ordered within 2-3m (I know MANY people that got engaged and married within 2-3m, so it IS possible ) She can also wait till after the baby, but I know most brides to be would not wait till such 'last minute'... so its really dependent on everyones feelings on it.
Everything will turn out just fine!

Re: REPOST from BHB Board...
If the gown can be rush ordered a few weeks after the baby that might be better. If not, make sure there is CAP on her alterations since that could cost her a fortune if they want her to order a very large size. But most experienced bridal sales rep can help you with this situation.

Re: REPOST from BHB Board...
Thanks everyone for your suggestions - we BOTH really appreciate your advice!
Anna...my suggestion to my sister was to either order it a size or two larger or wait until after the baby is born to order. She seems nervous about both suggestions but more comfortable with ordering it a little bigger. Either way, I don't really mind what happens - I just want her to be comfortable. Since my BMs are wearing black and most likely will all be in different dresses, I really don't think she has anything to worry about. She could always just pick up a black dress is worse came to worse.
Thanks again everyone!!!

Re: REPOST from BHB Board...
I had my son 3 months before my best friends wedding. I ordered the largest size (I was already a plus size) Most places charge for alterations anyway. So just order it a size or 2 larger.
