Repost from BHB - Dog Sitter

I did a quick search on this, but wanted to see if I could get some more options.

I have a 1 year old male Brittany, and I need to find a sitter for the night of my wedding. I don't want to leave him somewhere that crates, and my parents are uncomfortable with strangers going into their house. I like the idea of someone that brings dogs into their home, but would consider a kennel.

Does anyone know of anyone or any place either near the Babylon area or Farmingville area? I figure I can find a family member willing to drop him off somewhere between my parent's and the reception.

Thanks!!!

ETA - I live in New Jersey, but am getting married on Long Island, so I need to find a vet on LI.

I would call your vet...they may know someone...seems like this would be a great business for someone, just taking care of pets for brides!!!

I know, right! Actually, I live in New Jersey, but will have the dog with me on Long Island from Wednesday before the wedding. So my vet probably won't be able to help me find Long Island dog sitters.

Where on LI are you getting married. That may help with the search.

In the Farmingville area ... anywhere around Babylon up to Farmingville would work.

In Deer Park there is the Willow Pet Motel and in West Islip (Higbe Lane and Sunrise Hwy) there is our vet DR. Herbold who has a kennel next door to his office.

check out the PetSmart in Huntington.

we have used their doggy hotel many times now and our little guy loves it.

they have play from 9 to 6 and then go on 3 relief walks and then at night they get a treat and are put away to go sleep. The rooms they sleep in are pretty big and are not cages but little 4 by 4 areas.

check it out
