We are having our e-party on Dec 17th and I'm wondering how far in advance we should send invites. Any ideas?

I sent out invites out about a month and half before the party. I gave them a month to RSVP and then it gave me a few weeks to organize. Especially if you are having it out or even having it catered, they usually want to know about a 2 weeks in advance how many people.
