I think it depends on your personal financial situation and how much the party itself cost you. Try to think of it this way, if the roles were reversed and your sis had your money, how much would you expect her to spend? HTH

I think it depends on if you are throwing the shower or not and how much you are paying for it. A few years ago, my friend's mom paid for the entire shower so we all chipped in $150 each for the gift.
Last year, we paid for the shower and her MOH picked a place that cost us close to $500 each(yes, I was insanely po'd...still am) so we didn't chip in for a gift. I got her something inexpensive from VS, a few didn't get her anything and others got her more extravagant gifts.

My mom and I are paying for the entire shower. BMs are just contributing toward a gift. I thought $125 was reasonable for the BP. I usually give around $100 as a guest at a shower. As her sister I'm going to be contributing more toward the gift on top of paying for the shower.
And that's on top of paying for my own wedding!

Mine didn't do anything in particular.... They don't even really talk to one another and I guess coordinating a group gift was too much for them
Any way, my mom said that they usually buy one of the bigger items; bed room set... luggage.... dishes....
Maybe you can find one of the more pricey gifts and just divid the cost that way.
