I still have time but I was wondering what I should do about the timing to write on my invites. I have about 230 guests. I come from Carribbean background and my culture can be very laid back so to speak when it comes to timing for events. There is no such thing as deadlines and being on time back home. You just show up whenever so long as you show up! I love my people but I can not operate like that!
So with that said, normally I will tell my guests my event starts about an hour before it really starts. But I wanted to know what to do with my guests who actually have a concept of time especially when it comes to weddings? (Approx 30ppl)
Do I have two diffrent invites with two different times? Or do I have one invite with the earlier time and tell the 30 some odd people the wedding starts an hour later?
I just don't want to look tacky and I will not chance it by putting the real time because I will be saying my vows in front of a room of empty pews!!!
As always thanks for your help ladies

Re: Repost from BHB: Invite Timing
My family is the same way so my invites will have the time an hour earlier, for those who show up on time, it's only an hour and they will have to wait, they'll probably pass the time talking to other family members so the that hour won't really seem that long.

Re: Repost from BHB: Invite Timing
im not sure if i would personally inflate the time by an hour... even with a fam thats known to be late, that can be a bit much and if i was one of your guests who does arrive on time and some even like 15 mins before time, id be a little mad to be waiting around that long... I think it may look a bit tacky when you have to tell the on-timers that its really an hour later... and even then, some may not even remember by the time the day arrives...

I'm doing a half hour earlier time line... If people are really an hour late than they will just miss the ceremony thats not my problem but I dont want the people that are really on time waiting a whole hour
