Do you think it's tacky (or does anyone know if it's proper ettiquette) to write: 'Adult Only Reception' on the invitations?

We had this duiscussion. IMO it's inapporpriate. That's what the inner envolpe is for. If it only says 'John and Jane Doe' on the inside then thats how is invited. Adults only reception, I personally think it's tacky, ot goes against etiquette and it may offend people. Like, if my kids were just not invited, I'd think, well maybe she couldn't afford it, etc. But if it specifically says 'adults only' it just SOUNDS snobby een if it isn't. Anyway, the inner envelope is more than sufficient and tells the guest clearly who is and is not invited.
ETA: As the board etiquette guru...It IS against etiquette according to emily/peggy post.
