I'm probably going to change my last name to 'maiden name - fiance's last name' on my marriage license. For any of the brides who have done this, did you need to change your name anywhere else (driver license, passport, banking, etc)?

How about professional licenses? I'm in the process of taking my CPA exam but I won't pass all 4 parts until after I am married. My CPA applications are in my maiden name. Will I need to change that?

This is sooo complicated!!!

Changing your name on your marriage license does not automatically change your name. You stil have to go to, with your marriage license, to Social Security Adminstration, DMV, banks etc.

I don't know if I can help regarding the professional part because I am an attorney and I don't know if the rules regarding the Bar apply to you as well.

I didn't change any of my certifications. I kept them in my maiden name. In fact, I kept my maiden name on my resume because if anybody checks out my old jobs and asks if 'Kelly married name' ever worked there they'd say 'Who?'
