Repost from BHB.. Need Help

A lil background info...

My FH is a student as the Art Institute of New York City. He is going for an AAS degree in Restaurant Mangagement and Culinary Arts. He worked at P.J. Clarkes in Midtown Manhattan for 5 months in the Prep Kitchen, however, there were restuarant cut backs, and the newest people got let go (Just our luck).

He applied to places in Times Square, such as Olive Garden, Planet Hollywood.. etc cuz we figured it would be easier to get a job there... however, that was over a week ago and not one phone call... He is worrying that his occupation will not be stable enough to be a good husband, and i'm trying to reassure him that we'll be fine.. But trying to pay for the wedding ourselves is going to kill us if he is out of work for long. We may even have to push the wedding back, something he adamantly does not want to do. So if you ladies know of any job openings, please please let me know.. THANKS!!!

You girls made me feel better... hopefully within the next 2 weeks things will change.

i already posted on the BHB board...but it's a male tendency to feel the way he does....and then there's pressure (ya know that lil wedding pressure that hangs over everyone's head and causes buttloads of tension)...so just keep telling him how much you love him...and like i told my best friend when she lost her teaching job....I give you one week to wallow and ask for all the self pity you would like...then you get to take a look at life, realize you are young, it means it was not the school (or kitchen) you were meant to be in, and find that positive attitude for all the job hunting you will be doing...low and behold, she now has another job and is happier...so just keep finding the positive and you two will be fine (and not have to postpone a thing hopefully)
