repost from BHB - Question for those with a Sat. daytime wedding with ceremony at the church
When did you take your pictures? If the ceremony starts at 11 and the CH at 1 do you have to miss the CH?

Hi Susan!
I've been to one wedding - the bride and groom got married at a church and then went to the reception hall (The Riveria) and took photo's while the CH was going on. When their photo's were done, they joined the tail end of the CH.
Didn't leave them much time to mingle but we did get to see them.
Good luck!

Thanks Lisa. I'm having trouble figuring this one out. I really don't want to miss the CH.

Our ceremony is at 11, but is not a mass. So I hope to be done at the church by 12 or 12:15. We'll be taking a lot of family pictures at the church and the rest at the hall. It takes no more than 30 minutes to get to the reception hall. We started the CH the latest we could (1:30). So even if we take a lot of pictures of just the 2 of us (and stop at a place on the way for that), worst case we should only have to miss part of the CH.
If the reception is far from the church, you probably can't help but miss the CH if you're on that time line.

How about starting the CH just a 1/2 hour later?

I don't think they'll let us do that. We have to be out for the next reception. I'm thinking about just doing the Sat. night reception now.

I thought about moving my reception too.. But it runs about $10-$15 more per person.. which also means more per tip, sometimes dj's charge more.. etc. etc.. all this just to take pictures.. I plan on leaving the churh around 12:30ish and just taking pictures outside the hall, in the hall etc.. my photographer also offers a place to take pictures, it isn't too far away from the hal but i'm undecided right now..
