My dress just arrived and my wedding isn't until July 30. When do I go for my first fitting? I have a few more pounds I'd like to lose before I go (okay, like 20 but I'll take what I can get ), so should I wait until the beginning of June, mid-June, or is that too late? Thanks

I went last week for mine which was 7 weeks before my wedding. I think mid-june would be fine.

I was told about two months prior to the wedding...I'm going next week for my first fitting and my wedding is July 8th.

I waited as LONG as possible!!! and it worked out just fine!! I don't think there is anything wrong with waiting till mid June!
You may want to go and see the dress now, try it on and make sure everything is as it should be. Then, you and the salon will have an idea how extensive your alterations may be and can pick a date from there.
I needed minimal alterations and had my first fitting on March 30 and my second ( & final) fitting May 2.
