REPOST from bhb...need help

Ok I HAVE to do my e-party invites, they should've been done already actually...Problem is my printer wasn't working, so i took my dads printer but i don't know what he did with the wires and we can't find it...anyways i go to bestbuy today, they had usb but not adapter so i go to buy a new printer...But i asked the guy first about doing the addresses for invites and it coming out with the gold writing, he said that it wouldn't work....Ok NOW WHAT!!! i am going crazy, and it's probably so simple and stupid...What printers can do it or what should I do...Should I just go somewhere to have the addresses done...I need to get them out this week.


I think a photo quality printer might do it, but at bestbuy they either said i dont know, or they told me no...soo aggrevating, i am about to handwrite them GRRRR

I actually got invites at hallmark that you can personalize..I typed in the info on the invite and printed them out

On the envelopes though, was it the gold font? I already have the return address in gold so would like to do the same...and do you have just a regular printer...I thought it would come out with a photosmart printer but they guy said no

I did the addresses on my christmas cards, it was pretty easy. What program are you using?

I am not using anything right now because the wires for the printer were lost...I wouldve bought a new one but the people at bestbuy didn't know which printer i should buy.

what color is the paper?

I think i am gonna have to go back, some other store though and buy a new printer and do it tomorrow...why wouldn't a printer print in gold

just on the outer envelope when i address them to people.

The envelopes are cream colored...I ordered invitations online and they already did the invitations...I just need to address them to our guests now

no actually i did black font..used a regular printer..

you can try it on plain white paper and compare the colors and work with it that way

yeah thats what i was afraid of and thats what one guy told me today...I am either gonna hand write them tomorrow or actually wait first bc FH said he knows someone at a printing company that does these things and see what they say, i would rather be the one to do it and see how they all come out.

i just did it on my computer i mean, i guess it looks gold, but a flat gold, no sparkles or shine to it so i guess it could look a little mustardy

if you handwrite them..they sell a calligraphy pen that is gold and looks sparkly at hallmark

when you click on font, you can then go to 'custom color' and make it lighter or darker

yeah thats what ***** right now, i cant find the wires for the printer so cant use the printer to test it out...I was just gonna buy a new printer tomorrow until we find the stupid printer wires that are missing

how is the gold on the return address? it is shiny or sparkly?
