Repost from BHB...NOt making minimum

I'm not making my minimum for the hall which i'm soooo upset about...my hall was completely accomadating at first, assuring me that It wouldn't be a huge problem as long as I was close...I'm short by 14 people...so now when i call today to give them my final head count they are giving me nothing but problems...after I called and gave them H*** they called back and said they would not charge me for my chair covers but I would still have to pay the full amount...does this seem reasonable or should I complain more, b/c they are still making out on the deal.

any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

how much are the chair covers? They are giving you something ...so I'm not sure how much more you should complain.

normally when they give you the package price for XX amount of people.....you agree to pay in your contract even if you don't make the minimum. If they are throwing in the chair covers....that's actually nice of them....

They really aren't obligated to give you anything - when you signed the contract you signed for X amount of people.
Are you included kids and vendors in your final count?
We didn't make our min with the kids and vendors and our hall gave us an add on which equaled the amount of people under the minimum. Our other option would have been to have that amount of meals wrapped up to take home with us.

Our minimum included our vendors at half price.

Minimum was 150

We paid full price for 141 people and half price for 9 people.

See if the kids and vendors count towards your minumum.

Why not ask if you can apply the difference to something extra that you liked but didn't originally include. And if you do so, try to look at it from this perspective:

'I was expecting to spend (whatever minimum is). Now I'm spending the same amount but I'm getting (add extras here - choco fountain, whatever.)
