Anyone been there or live there? My friend got a job down there teaching and starts in August. We are heading down there next month to check out apartments for her and her DH and learn the area (and so I can show my DH and convince him to move there too).

I have 3 questions:

1. Where is the best place to stay for the weekend?

2. Where is the best nightlife so we can have lots of fun?

3. What are the best apartment complexes for us to check out?

I just got back from a conference there this weekend - our hotel was beautiful! I have no idea of the price range, but it was the Embassy Suites in Carey. Very nice and very clean - and every day they served an awesome breakfast and had a two hour free happy hour (open bar!!) On Saturday night we went out in 'downtown Raleigh' where there were restaurants and bars. The hotel wasn't in the 'city' but it was a short drive away.
