Repost from LIF - Travel Insurance

Has anyone ever bought travel insurance on their own for a trip? If so, who did you use? We are going to Key West in 3 weeks and with all the hurricanes and a very elderly family member who seems to be fading a little, I want to make sure we are covered.

I havent personally but my boss has. I dont think weather is covered. I think its more if the trip has to be cancelled for medical reasons, or jury duty or something.
