my nephew (who most of you know by now is staying with us while his mom parties her life away) well I just finished pottytraining him and he is doing great UNTIL his Mom calls ...he talks to her and then hands me the phone and poops and pees right there and then he screams and cries
so I clean him and hug him and tell him its ok and things are fine.....my SIL takes him for a sleepover at her house and she told me he talked to his mom and then pooped in his pants right after that
Its like she scared the sh*t right out of him literally could that be possible???

sounds like she's saying something to him on the phone that scares him? Maybe the next time he talks to her someone should go on another extension at the same time, and of course without her knowing and see what she says? Sneaky, but there's a reason why?

It's probably mean, but maybe he should not talk to her at all. I agree with Melissa, maybe someone should go on a different phone in the house and listen to what she is saying to him.

stress will make children regress quickly. She may be telling him things that are making him feel tremendous stress. i think listening in might not be a bad idea. at least then you can try to counter what she says with positive things. good luck.

Sounds like his mom is worrying him. Maybe she's telling him that she wants him back, or that she misses him, and he wants to stay with you? Poor lil guy... I hope that it gets better for him.

Poor little guy! I agree with the above posters, 'supervise' the conversations your nephew has with her. Also, and I don't know if this is possible or not, can you try and limit the conversations he does have with her? Maybe get into a routine of scheduled calls so he knows when he will need to talk to her, i.e. once a week on Sunday evening, etc. Best of luck to you and your family as you try to get everybody adjusted to the new routine. You are doing a GREAT job!!! Hang in there!!!
