I didn't realize there was a craft board...so I'm posting my question here as well...
Does anyone have a sewing machine that the really love?
What are some good sewing machines?

I want to buy one, but I'm just starting my research on them.
I saw a Husqvarna-Viking Designer SE that is computerized! Hooks up to computer and everything...it just looks AMAZING!!!! I want it so bad, but it's between $6,000-$7,000! I had no idea they went that high in price!

Any other more realistic recommendations?

I've seen them at places like Target for about $100, so I'm guesing the one you were looking at is top of the line....

I have the Husqvarna-Viking Designer II and I LOVE IT! Mine does not hook up to my computer but does have memory cards.
I also have the embroidery unit that hooks up to it. Mine is one step down from the SE model. The one you are looking at is the top of the line. The best!

I'm an advid quilter and it does everything I want it to do. I bought mine in 2000 and then I paid $4000., including the embroidery unit. And I purchased mine directly through a Viking Dealer. I wouldn't just purchase one from a store or a private sale. You should be able to find an authorized dealer in the phone book.

Good luck! These machines are soooo worth the investment. Word of advice: just make sure that if/when you decide to purchase this machine, your going to be using all the features. There are so many bells and whistles that are wonderful.
