repost from NWR: Can anyone help???

Hi I'm sad and I need some help! I've been w/my company for almost 9 years and they are doing HUGE lay offs. They were expected to lay off approx. 200+ people from this past Thursday through Monday. I haven't been laid off and I'm pretty sure that I'm safe (at the moment) however I don't think that's the end and its scary...
I am a trainer in a retail company (I can't say which one, b/c its VERY popular) and as I said I've been there for 9 years, does anyone know of any trainer positions opened anywhere???
Also...I have a degree in Music therapy and worked in a nursing home last year for about a year , I'm opened to going back into that if anyone knows of positions opened. I know this was a stretch, but its all I can think about, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Thanks for listening!

Oh Tonia, here are some hugs for you.... I am sorry you have to worry about this right now. It's never fun to worry about your job security. It's funny because I am actually a trainer with a big company. If we have any openings, I will let you know! Hang in there!!!

I'm sorry you are going through this. A very similar thing happened to me in 2004 with a retail company. It was very difficult for all involved.

I still have many friends in the world of retail...I'll keep my ears open for you!
