I started taking this about 2 months ago. I can't say that it is making my cycles normal, I am still somewhat irregular anywhere from 34-37 days.

Noreen, it depends on what the abnormality is, as to whether or not Vitex is the best solution.

Below is some info a friend sent me after I was having some problems with excessive spotting before AF. I'm taking Vitex for the first half of my cycle, and Wild Yam for the second half, and my spotting has become minimalized and more normal.

I'm not an expert herbalist, so I'll add the disclaimer that you should talk to your doctor before trying anything, or at least get more info than just this via multiple sources. You want to make sure you're using the herbs properly.

Natural Remedies for Infertility: False Unicorn Root, Vitex (Chaste Tree Berry), Wild Yam, Evening Primrose and more.

With infertility on the rise, many women are turning to less invasive natural treatments to boost their fertility and well-being. The benefits of these treatments include improving overall health while boosting natural fertility.
Studies show that 60% of couples experiencing infertility or sub-fertility suffer from female-factor problems. Most common among these is the failure to ovulate. Diet, stressors, and hormone imbalances all directly affect ovulation in the child-bearing woman, and it is important to address these factors while using natural remedies for fertility.

Common Herbal Remedies for Increasing Fertility

Chastetree berry or vitex: useful for normalizing pituitary gland fuctions, especially progesterone levels in the second half of the cycle. Extremely helpful in instances of irregular menstruation, long cycles, and short luteal phases.

False Unicorn Root: This is a very effective uterine tonic which has a balancing effect on the female reproductive system. Considered extremely effective in assisting with infertility. Utilized in the treatment of absent menstruation, irregular menstruation, overall hormone imbalances, ovarian cysts (including polycystic ovarian disorder or PCOS), and threatened miscarriage.

Dong Quai: This Chinese herb is considered a blood tonic and is very effective at adding important nutrients needed for proper fertility to the bloodstream. Said to increase chances of implantation, and should not be taken during menstruation.

Black Cohosh: another pituitary gland stimulator - helps to increase the Lutenizing Hormone (LH) during the proper time in your cycle. Useful for women who have an absence of menstruation or irregular cycles. Extremely effective when taken with chastetree berry/vitex extract.

Red Raspberry Leaf: this herb has a long standing tradition in many healing cultures as a uterine toner and strengthener. Many women find it to be an important part of their fertility treatment.

Evening Primrose Oil: Not really an herb, but an extract of the evening primrose flower. Rich in essential fatty acids (EFA's), this highly effective remedy is good for many aspects of fertility. Taken daily, it can help women who have mild hypothyroid issues, increase cervical mucus, and boost estrogen production.

Wild Yam: This is an excellent remedy for short luteal phases or progesterone imbalance. Best when taken after ovulation, in the second half of your cycle.

Red Clover: A favorite of herbalist Susun Weed for women hoping to boost their fertility. This blood cleansing herb contains isoflavones that are estrogen-like compounds which help to boost estrogen production. A good overall tonic as well.

Licorice Root: This extract is effective at stimulating adrenal gland functions, which can cause menstrual irregularities. Also helpful for women dealing with polycystic ovaries, high testosterone production, and low estrogen levels.
