Repost: March brides and invites

For brides who are in March when are you sending out your invitations? I was thinking the Jan. 14th (around) for my March 16th wedding is that too soon too late?

I need a rsvp of Feb. 14th because of the OOT hotel needs to be booked by then in order for the rooms not to be released, etc. and this way I have two weeks to track down people who didn't rsvp before my count is due.

Re: Repost: March brides and invites

I don't know. And this is the cause of my latest panic attacks because I still haven't picked my invitations. I'm looking I promise, but I havent' found anything I like it, I'm going to have to pull the trigger soon and pick one.
My hotel cut-off date is the 22nd so maybe have somewhere around there be the RSVP date. But Jan 14th sounds like a perfect date to send them out because that's 2 months out.

Re: Repost: March brides and invites

I got a FM from a vendor saying right after New Years send them out and my mother said the same thing. So I guess I am sending them out sooner then I thought IoI DAMN these invites better get printed this week - going to kill my pressman if he doesn't do it!

That's what I was thinking initially because I figured if they were sent out before the holidays they would get buried in piles of people's christmas cards.... After the New Year sounds perfect. Thanks!

Re: Repost: March brides and invites

I was planning on sending ours out on Dec 26th with a Feb 1 RSVP. We don't need to tell RH till March 1 but I figure that will give plenty of time.

I don't think it's cutting it too close at all, but maybe send them out a week earlier so you give them a little more than a month to respond?

I am march 8 and I don't have invitations yet either. I was thinking of sending them out right after the new year. Should I be worried?

Yea that's true, the person making mine says she can have them before the holidays if I'd like

Re: Repost: March brides and invites

I did STDs so I am not worried about warning people too much since now i am getting some phone calls from my cousins to feel out if kids are invited (my mom is dealing with this thank god) and so far they seem pretty happy they don'[t have to deal with kids for the day IoI

I would love to send them out a few days after xmass but probably is I know my family they will think (even with freaking shamrocks on the damn envelope) its a xmass card and bury it IoI

So if you brides getting married the middle of March are sending them out right after New Years then I should wait until the middle of January, right?

What should my RSVP date be if I am getting married the 28th? I am clueless, sorry.

Re: Repost: March brides and invites

We just ordered our invites, and got them in the mail today. I planned on going to the post office on Jan 2 to send them out, and our rsvp date is feb 15 (one month before the wedding) because that's the date for the hotel reservations too.

Yea one month to the wedding because your head count is typically due two weeks before your wedding if it is sooner then adjust.

I feel safe having the min of two weeks to search out dump people who didn't rsvp.

I just got my invites last week. My rsvp date is Feb 1st so I think I will send my invites out the week between xmas and new years. Does that sound right ?

Re: Repost: March brides and invites

i'm getting married on march 29th and I was figuring on sending out my invites around january 15th, or possibly before. This way i can make the rsvp date february 15th or february 22nd which would give me 5-6 weeks to follow up on non-responders and do the seating charts and placecards. . ..

yet i still don't have invites. . . but i do know where I'm getting them! She's just on vacation right now
