Repost: nelson d'leon

hi again,

i have another question... i just called them to find out about a hair and makeup trial... nelson is booked for my day but his sister is available... anyone have any input on her?

also... the lady on the phone said i can pay 250 for a consultation with nelson and then another 250 for a makeup trial with the actual sister... or i can just pay 300 for hair and makeup trial together with the sister... which one should i do? also they said the final price with the sister is 800 .... is this crazy?
or is it well worth the money?

thanx, any advice is appreciated :)

You are actually getting off cheap. I know Nelson charges $1000 for the brides.

Randella used Nelson and his sister. She looked fanstastic!!!

I know that Randella had a trial with him and (I think) the sister was there too, so she might know. She also used him for her wedding hair and makeup -- she looked absolutely stunning!

It's pricey but I have yet to see a bride done by him or his sister that doesn't look like she belongs in Grace Ormond Weddings. Sadly, not every stylist can do 'classy'.

Have you looked into Maureen and Claudia Pedala? Relatively cheaper and also great.

Rosemarie - I had my hair & make-up trial already with Nelson. His sister was there and helped him with my hair. FM me if you want additional details.

Nelson is VERY expensive but worth EVERY penny IMO. I have seen at least a half a dozen brides that were 'Nelson' brides and they all looked phenomenal!

I saw pics of Randella wedding and also of a few other brides on here- yes they looked beautiful, but I am still in shock that something you wash off at the end of the night could be that expensive.

if you have $$ like that, spend away- I believe, and hope, that I will find someone to make me look beautiful for a much lower price.

That would be me. I know that they are going to hire someone soon but not sure when.

my experience with nelson was awful --his siser's work is beautiful from what i have seen but she was booked for my wedding --he suggested i use his niece (who he told me was his other sister on the phone)...i went for an initial trial with nelson (after they double booked his niece) and was so turned off by his lies and his whole demeanor.

in my opinion, there are a lot of other artists that do just as nice work and they don't have nelson's unprofessional attitude!

i used raychel wade from cheektochic.com for makeup --she was on an episode of extreme makeover as the makeup artist and has been featured in countless magazines --she is pricey but does awesome work and is very nice...
