Repost: NWR-Apartment hunting

Any suggestions on where to start looking? I feel like I'm all over the place. I would like to stay somewhere near Nassau or maybe Queens since I work in the city. But we could be flexible so long as the train station is close by.

But I don't know where to start, where to look and it's really overwhelming with planning the wedding and spending so much thus far.

Any thoughts I'm really starting to get anxiety attacks about not finding a place to live or not being able to afford one in time.

What I do know is that DH and I really don't want to rent from someone's home and we are looking to pay no more than $1100/mo w/basic utilities.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is soo overwhelming.

Thanks in advance, sorry for rambling

It is going to be really difficult to find an apartment in a complex (not someone's home) for $1,100 a month in Nassau County. Please also keep in mind that you won't find utilities included (except heat/hot water) in a complex.

When we started looking we found ours through a realtor, but there are a lot on craigslist and mlsli.com.

I agree though, you might not find too many places for that amount of money unless they're in someone's house.

for a decent neighborhood you are not going to be able to find anything in that price range unless you go through a broker and then you usually have to pay them a full months rent as a brokers fee.
