Repost : Placecard Holder Help

Ok girlies .. .I need some advice

I picked out a place card holder that I love and want.

It is a wine bottle stopper, and as many of you know - Angelo (FH) is making wine to hand out at the end of the wedding. Sooo the wine bottle stopper place card holder is PERFECT bc it sets a little theme going on.

The problem is ..... how can i display the place card holders since they lay flat??

please keep in mind I am going to have 250-300 guests at my wedding

TIA!!!

how about the shot glass idea but add glass beads or something to weigh them down?

Otherwise how about a large tray, about 2-3' deep and fill it with sand or colored sand, and then stick them in that? Or use crushed glass to hold the?

here's a quick illustration of what i am trying to explain...you could use a glass baking pan or find a large flat silver tray or something...

What about a big piece of Styrofoam and maybe paint it or wrap it with something & stick them in there so they stand up?

I am so thinking out of the box here.

wow! your so cute with your illustrations!
do you think that sand will make it weigh down? and glass beads might make them just tip over?

If you put enough sand in to make it deep enough it should work...i hope?? hahah...the beads might not be 'dense' enough to hold...i'd say take a bowl, fill it with sand, rocks, beads, whatever and see how it holds!

I did product illustration for about 8 years, so i often find it quicker to draw stuff then explain it! hehe..

What if you took smaller bowls and filled them each with the sand, maybe put each table in a bowl kind of like a mini seating chart?

eta: I don't know, does that make sense?
