Repost: Question for brides who used outside caterer
I am using a caterer outside of the one that the caterering hall usually supplies. On the bill, the caterer put 'Optional: tip $500'. Who would be getting this tip? I am already paying 20% service charge.

it still goes to the servers. the servers actually came to my dad during the reception to get a tip and when we said we already paid 150/server, they said that they don;t get all of it...

So then you ended up tipping seperately from the service charge?

Sux indeed.
When I worked as a server for catering companies, I NEVER got tips. And I worked for 4 different companies! Well, when I tip, I want to give the $$ to the servers directly b/c I don't trust anyone....Thanks for the info.
