I would think it would be hard to rent one because they are so personalized. For example: each side of mine has stuff in that's geared to me and FH. One side has pics of us as kids. another side has our wedding invitation, another side has pics of us dating through the years, etc. I don't even think I could take the stuff out of the picture frames because it's all glued and taped and screwed together.
good luck though. if you have any questions about making one, feel free to ask away. There are tons of helpful woman here to, well help you!!

Re: repost.photo cube
i brought a wooden frame from AC Moore...then use a form board to seal it ( i did this for the top also)
by time you rent one from sombody, you can just own somthing... like, this project cost me 40 dollors or so...

Re: repost.photo cube
I actually use styrofoam (sp?) for my base. It was easy to cut and I glued each picture frame to the side of the styrofoam. It was really easy and so much better to deal with then wood.

My FH cut a piece of plywood and screwed it into the base and the top and also cut the slot out for the top - but we started with a wooden plant holder.... added the top and bottom, stained it all, cut the material and padding for the top piece, cut the mats to fit the sides, bought pretty nail heads and it's done! I'll get a pic...
Here's the top view:
And the side
It really is a simple project and it's so pretty!
