resetting e-ring

resetting e-ring

let me start by saying that i love love love my engagement ring...its exactly what i wanted and my fh picked it out all by himself without any assistance from anyone (including myself). perfect right? well, i started looking at wedding bands and becausemy ring is a low bezel setting, nothing fits flush against it.. meaning id either have a gap between the two rings, or id have to wear my ering on my right hand. is it wrong to get my ering reset so i can wear my two rings together in the future?

It's not wrong at all; as long as it makes you happy...and it sounds like FI knows you do love and appreciate the ring; you just want to wear em together!

i have the same problem..but i found a great channel set that fits great with it...it is not perfect..but the gap is not bad at all!

what about getting a curved, custom band? they're not nearly as expensive as most people assume when they hear 'custom'...

nothing is wrong with changing it alittle i have to change mine too b/c of the same reason. do u have a picture of ours? u might be able just to bring the middle stone up higher that might work too...

Re: resetting e-ring

let me tell you that i had the SAME problem.

That is the ring that i have and it sits incredibly low on my finger. I searched about 12 stores and not one place had a ring that sit well with my ring. I even thought about getting a spacer ring.

Until i went to Signed Pieces in the diamond district in NYC. I got a eternity band that sit perfectly against my ring. I was shocked! This eternity band fit perfectly under my ring and of course i bought it on the spot! I'm not sure what your ring looks like, but i would definitely check them out if you go into the city. http://www.thefacetscollection.com/home.cfm

But to answer your question... no its not bad if you get the ring reset. I really didn't want to do that to mine, but it was my last resort if needed.

My ring was custom made and there is no way I can wear a band with it. I tried and it pushes my e-ring up to my knuckle. I have no choice but to wear the band on my other hand. My jeweler told me alot of people are doing that now, so I'm not concerned. I like the way my ring looks without a band anyways.

I'm actually thinking about getting my e-ring reset for the opposite reason. It's too high. I love love love everything about it, but think I would like it a little better if it were a little lower. I don't think there's antyhing wrong with doing that. Mine will still not be so low that I can't wear a wedding band with it.

I agree I rather Keep my Original E- Ring & get a Custom wedding band so you dont have to change anything

This is what I did. My e-ring is an antique from FH's family and we had a wedding band made to match. I used Elsa's in Farmingdale and they did a great job.

Honestly, I would get a custom wedding band, I would personally not change my e ring setting...but it is whatever you are comfortable with

I think it's fine because it's not like your changing it because you don't like it - you're modifying it so you can keep wearing it.

I think it's ok to get it reset- it's not like you don't love it- you just need to change it slightly so your wedding band will fit. I think I'm going to have to do the same thinfg- I have a 6 prong setting that sits pretty low. We went to try on bands last weekend and nothing worked with it. I love my ring- I just might have the setting raised a bit.

I have the same problem.. with the exception that my ring is too high... and I bang it on everything... and FH picked all by himself... and after much pleading he finally agreed to let me change the setting to a much lower one...

And no it's not wrong to change it to your desire.
