This is true. Some people think that this means that they're aloud to bring a guest, even if they aren't invited with one. So they'll fill in 2! It happend to my sister - alot!

We had some drama with that, but we would've had drama with those people regardless of what the response card said.
99% of our guests responded with the number of people who were listed on the envelope.

FH didn't like flowery language and didn't have any clue what the M____ was for and said no one in his family would understand it either (apparently weddings in the South are nothing like weddings on Long Island) so we compromised.
I still think you should do whatever the heck you want.
