Response Card Date

What date did you or are you putting on your response cards? My wedding is May 19th and I was going to put May 1st but I'm wondering if I should make it a week earlier?

We told guests to repond by August 25, 1 month before the wedding. I'd make it 1 month before b/c quite a few responses tend to be late (or not come at all). You don't want to have to call a bunch of people the last week or two before your wedding. Also, the faster the responses come in, the quicker you can get your seating chart done.

I did about a month before and still were waiting on people the week before the wedding

be sure to give your self plenty of time!

1 month before The hall needs the final count (and a check) by the week before the wedding but I wanted to give myself plenty of time to run down the non-responders

We set ours for a month before the wedding and I STILL had to call and track people down who never RSVP'd - even 2 weeks before the wedding!

we are doing one month and one week- 5 weeks... Just because I know how long it takes for people to respond and hopefully the extra week will give me some room to make calls...do placecards...and give info to hall...

ditto for me too! my sister advised me of doing this b/c she did exactly one month out and felt she needed more time. my wedding is june 23 and i'm sending out my invitations first week of april with an rsvp of may 15.

Today is actually our response date. We are still waiting on 7 couples (out of 251 people), but we did call a few people last week who we knew wouldn't care about being nudged.

You wouldn't believe the people who won't respond until the last minute (or not at all). We got responses really early from some people we barely know (parents' friends) but are still waiting on people we are pretty close with. You have to give yourself a couple of weeks to hunt everyone down.

We're probably going to do a month before because we have to give a final count to the hall two weeks before. That gives two weeks to wait for late responses and to call people.
