response card etiquette???

response card etiquette???

Is it ok to have the space for '# of persons attending' on the response cards?? I know you're really not supposed to but to be quite honest some of my family can be quite dumb and I don't know if they will bring guests or not (no matter what the envelope says)

I think it might be easier to have it on there, but if it's really bad etiquette I can still change them. Help!

I have it on mine.

I am inviting people that I have to literally spell things out for.

how would you feel if someone wrote that they were bringing 4 extra people? would that be OK with you?

I know some people have actually written it out for each guest before it is sent...but I am not a fan of it...

I have no problem calling any rude people who may put '5 guests' on the response card even though 2 were invited

I just think it may be helpful for some of those extended family members where you put '& guest' even though you have no idea whether or not they have a significant other anyway. My mother is inviting people that she hasn't even seen since she was like 15! She's so funny.

Thanks everyone!

We put number attending on ours. I didn't think it would sound rude. Oh well.
BTW - we did have one couple put 10 in the space. The wife thinks she's very funny. We were toying around with the idea of actually putting them at their own table with 8 empty seats

I have it on mine. What about people who won't be bringing a Guest - - you need to know for seating also.
