-RESPONSE CARD ISSUE - Please help

Ok so when I was ordering my invites, the response card had 2 options:
1. The favor of a reply is requested by 9/12/08
M.___________________________
accept __ decline___

OR

option 2.
The favor of a reply is requested by 9/12/08
M.___________________________

number of persons ___

Now I choose #2. the reason for this was because I have a few relatives whose children are not invited, on the inner envelope I worte just the couples name.now if i didnt put ption 2 they would have just shown up with the kids so now if i invited 2 and they say 3 i will know they expect their kids to come! Invites went out and i am getting them back. - All yes's so far.

Issue is there is no place for someone to say no!!
So now i am worried that people wont be smart enough to write on the response card that they wont be attending etc. and that they just wont send it assuming i am going to take it as a no if they dont send it back. im soo pissed about this.
Now i guarantee you that if i left accept or decline people would have shown up with extra people.

so i am distressed about this. I am assuming all the repsonses coming back filled with with names and numbers are all yes's but i dont know what to do.
advice please. cant chnage anything everything already was mailed!!

well, if option 2 did not allow for 'accepts - declines' then i would assume people would put a 0 on the number of persons line under their names?

I chose the same wording on the response card, not my choice though. It was the only option I hade for this invite...I did get back a no and they just wrote there names and wrote sorry unable to attend. But I see what your saying, 120 invites sent 25 responses and my rsvp date is in a week. most no's are usually mailed the last minute though so lets have confidence in our families that will figure it out.

dont worry, guests will put 0 if they are not coming, or they will write it in by hand.

I agree...you could also write

__________ # of adults attending

So they know there are no kids invited....that's what I did

I guess i just had a bridal freak!!

hopefully people would get it. I wish the people not attending would just say no. i have a few people from work i want to invite but cant just incase everyone else does come. another stress..
