Response card question

Response card question

My parents are paying for the wedding. Does that mean I have to address the inner envelopes to their house? We currently live 5 hours away so it's not like I can pop in to grab any that arrive. Also it makes me a little nervous bc my mom with menopause and all this hormonal crap is having issues with her short term memory (like thinking she did something already when she didn't) so I'm nervous she'll forget to tell me about some or something.

FH and I also live together but pretty much everyone knows this anyway.

THe other issue is we will probably be down on LI the week before the wedding, would we get any straggling RSVPs that late??

I have a little while but I was thinking about this tonight.

If your parents dont' have a problem with it, then I'd say send it to your house then. My mom was adamant that she get them and she'll call me every day to let me know the results. But if you think it'll be a problem with your mom keeping track, it's just easier to send them to yourself. And if someone has the audacity to send an RSVP the week before the wedding, then they're out!

I don't see a problem with addressing them to be sent to you. And by the week before the wedding if you havent received an RSVP you would more than likely call to follow up so that you can give your RH the final head count.

Ok. I would prefer to have them so my anal self can keep track and file them. I just wasn't sure if that would look bad since the invites will technically be from my parents since they are the hosts on the invite.

I think that if your parent are ok send it to your house.

I wouldn't worry about late RSVP because you will probably call people that don't respond anyway.

I agree, I would have them sent to your house.

I would definitely address them with your address and not your parents'. Even though they're paying it's still your wedding!

I would say ask your parents if they mind if you recieve them.....

Ask your parents. My mom would never allow it. But as I keep pointing out she is all about etiquette. Since they are paying she would insist responses come to her. I live home though so its not an issue.

I think its something you need to discuss with your parents.

I have the exact same situation. I'm addressing them to me b/c I'm too anal to let me my mom keep track, she might miss something.

haha definitely that too! I live so far away right now I'd go nuts and call them everyday 'anything in the mail??' lol!

I don't think my parents will mind. They will probably prefer it so they don't risk a problem being on them lol. Many people probably won't even pay attention I'm sure since they just have to drop it in the mailbox.

Thanks everyone!
