I read this today and thought it was so clever. Maybe everyone already knows, but just in case you don't here it is:
'You may have guests who will neglect to write in their names, or who write illegibly. Solve this problem by numbering your guest list, then inconspicuously writing the corresponding number on the back of each response card. Trust me, you’ll thank me for it later.'

Re: Response card tip
hehe mine and FH's friends have done this...and we like to scribble it out or white it out just to mess with them lol we're so mean. they always figure out its us thought cuz FH likes to draw pictures on the response card and color it in and stuff

Re: Response card tip
We also use print each person's address on the RSVP card (top left corner where the sender's address goes) in case we can't read the person's handwriting.

Re: Response card tip
many people on here have done this, many use an invisible pen to number the cards. The invisible pen comes with a small black light so you can check it when it comes back

Re: Response card tip
Someone responded on here yesterday, that it is better to just write the guests name on the RSVP card, rather than going thru the trouble of keeping a numbered list.

Re: Response card tip
I did this and only had to reference it a couple of times LOL. But Im glad I did it! We had 2 couples with the same first names adn they didn't write a last name on the response. We also had people write Mr. and Mrs. XYZ. Well when you invite 10 Mr. and mrs. xyz's from your family, the numbering comes in handy!!! I just wrote the numbers very small on the back corner of the card. I doubt anyone noticed them.
