I just think this sounds stupid. What else could I tell them to write? Is it too simple to say....

This one was very smart. We had a few instances were we invited a guest alone (since they were not in a long term relationship, due to budget restraints)] and they responded for 2. I did not know how to word my invites to indicate the # attending without letting them fill it out themselves. This would have been perfect . Oh well, I'll keep that in mind for the second marriage (J/K )

i chose the first one (accepts with pleasure, declines with regret), but it's all a matter of personal preference!! do what YOU feel looks best.

you can go to http://www.verseit.com if you need other options. They have wording for anything you can think of. HTH
