Response Card Wording

Which do you girls think works best: M____________________ ___ Will attend ___ Will not be able to attend OR M___________________ Number of persons ________ I feel like if I invite someone with a guest or family they may not indicate the exact amt of people attending on the 1st example. However on the 2nd one I feel it gives those invited alone to fill in with a guest if they wanted to which would lead to an embarrassing phone call. And for those of you who are getting responses back, would you have change anything on the card?

We used the 2nd .. 40 responses back so far with no problems!

Kate, We`ve received a bunch of responses back already, about 40, and we haven`t run into any problems yet. The only thing I would have liked to have done, was write in people`s return addresses for them on the response envelopes. That`s the only thing I`ve noticed, most people don`t put their return address, unless they have the labels. Plus, everytime we see we have responses, we can`t open them fast enough to see who it`s from .. the return address would have been a tip-off! :) Also, if someone should happen to forget writing in their name on the response card .. we would have had it on the envelope as a back-up system. So far, we haven`t had anyone forget to write in their names. One thing we have noticed, though .. now that I think about it, we have had people write in 'will gladly attend' or 'will attend.' The first time we noticed that, I said to my fiance, 'Gee, did we do something wrong?' But, we only had that on a couple. My mom wrote, 'Will be there with bells on!' LOL But we choose this style because we also had families we were inviting, and wanted to make sure we were given an exact count of who was coming. For the family invitations, on the Inner envelope, we addressed them like this: Mr. & Mrs. John Smith Michael, Paul & Michelle But we haven`t had any one person from a family decline yet. The only problem I could see, is if you`re inviting a family of 5 and you get a response for 4, you have to hope they write all the names on the card, otherwise you won`t know the one who`s not coming .. but that will happen no matter how you word the card.
