I am ordering invitations this weekend, and unsure what is the proper amount of days I should put to have the response by. I was thinking by 1/22 for a 2/17 wedding, does that sound about right? What did you ladies choose? Is there some etiquette rule I should be following?
TIA

Re: Response Cards
I believe a good guideline is approximately 1 month prior to the wedding, give or take a few days.
We have a 9/12 response date for our 10/15 wedding.

Re: Response Cards
I chose to have our RSVP date by 9/7 for a 10/21 date because I wanted to purchase favors for each person as well as a rose and menu for each place setting. So, I needed the extra time, hence the RSVP date.
Most people, however, usually give a RSVP date 4 weeks before the wedding date.

Re: Response Cards
My RSVP date is this weekend 8/27 for my 10/8 wedding. A lot of my vendors told us we should do 6 weeks b/c it gives us enough time to track people down since a lot are slackers.
I'm glad I did b/c we sent 100 invites and are still waiting for 40 RSVP cards to come back.

Re: Response Cards
I would definitely give yourself at least a month before the wedding. My response date is today and I am going to be making a lot of phone calls tomorrow!

Re: Response Cards
We had a RSVP date of 5 weeks before. Also to track down people and make sure any hotel rooms were booked at least one month before.

Re: Response Cards
I would do at least a month before. My date was 4/22 for my 5/27 wedding. People don't RSVP on time and you want 'cushion' time.
